In May we drove down to New Orleans to visit with Robert. We also had tickets for the Jazz Fest. It was my first time and i was overwhelmed the first day. The second day was better and was really enjoyable. On the way back we stopped in Biloxi and had Courtney and Anthony visit us for the evening.
As an early birthday present and because she adores Mark Texiera, Klare bought me tickets to Tex's bobble head night. We had amazing seats just in front of the first base dugout. Klare got to see Tex up close and got Jeff Francoeur's autograph.
In August, Klare took part in a horse show in Alpharetta. It was very interesting to watch as she competed with other beginners in the ring. She did Walk, Trot, and Canter in several events. The whole family came out to show our support.
In early March, on a windy weekend a huge pine tree fell into our neighbors yard taking out part of the fence in the process. Thanks to the help of Chris and a rented saw, we hauled the tree to the cul-de-sac. Cobb County took it several days later. I had wanted to raise the fence, so I rebuilt two corners to make the fence level with the horizon.
This summer we had an unwanted guest in our attic. A squirrel had found a way in and built a nice nest. The only problem was that it was right over our bedroom and we could hear him walk back and forth along the wall. I wanted to shoot it, but Klare wouldn't let me. So we borrowed a trap from Chris and lured him in with a Milky Way. His new home is now somewhere close to Harrison Tennis Center.
For our 1 year anniversary we decided to go cheap. So we drove to Alabama and spent an evening with Klare's best friend Courtney and her husband Anthony. We then drove to Biloxi and had two free nights at the Beau Rivage. It was a lot of fun.
In April we visited Matt and Jeremy in Chicago. For our second visit to the Windy City we focused more on the cultural events. We saw a great play called Jersey Boys, a comedy club, a jazz bar, and several great restaurants.
